A One of the functions of the imperfect tense in Spanish is to describe activities that occurred over and over. The following exercise is designed to help the reader sense the pain and aching monotony of this child’s existence. Find the expression in the first half of the poem that corresponds to each of the following phrases in English, and write it in the space provided.
